The allegations brought up regarding the university education and graduation of CHP's detained presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu have been clarified with his official transcript document.
Writer Fuat Uğur, known for his proximity to the government, had shared claims in an article based on information from a court file, suggesting that İmamoğlu had received very low grades in some courses and had failed.
However, it was determined that the grades in question were not the final results of the courses, but rather interim or old exam grades reflected in the file. According to official records, all of these courses were passed in subsequent exams.
According to a report by Halk TV, the documents approved by the Dean's Office of Istanbul University revealed that the low scores shared were not final grades. The documents show that İmamoğlu completed the relevant courses with passing grades obtained later.
According to the "Course Achievement Status Document" issued by the Faculty of Business Administration and dated August 1, 1994, student number 100639 Ekrem İmamoğlu graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration's English Program on July 18, 1994. The transcript shows a cumulative grade point average of 59.16 from the 1st to the 4th year.
The final grades for the courses in the official documents were recorded as follows:
Business Policy 55, Marketing Principles 60, Information Processing 50, Production and Inventory Management 65, Basic Concepts of Law 60, Public Finance 50, Financial Management 55, Behavioral Sciences 65. It was observed that the Fine Arts and Turkish Language courses were completed as "Successful" in both semesters, and scores of 70 and 65 were received in the Principles of Atatürk and History of Revolution courses.
• Business Policy: The course for which Fuat Uğur claimed a "0 (Zero)" was received has a final grade of 55 (Average) on the transcript.
• Marketing Principles: The official final grade for the course for which it was claimed a "3" was received is 60 (Average).
• Information Processing: The final passing grade for the course for which it was claimed a "10" was received is 50 (Average) on the document.
• Production and Inventory Management: The final grade for the "Production and Inventory Systems" course, for which it was claimed a "19" was received, is 65 (Average).
• Basic Concepts of Law: While the alleged old grade was 20, the final grade for this course on the official document is 60 (Average).
• Public Finance: While the alleged old grade was 43, the final grade for the "Public Finance and Turkish Tax Systems" course on the transcript is 50 (Average).
• Financial Management: The final passing grade for the course claimed to be "Fail" is 55 (Average) on the document.
• Behavioral Sciences: The final grade for the course claimed to be "Fail" is 65 (Average) on the document.
• Fine Arts: The final result for this course, which was claimed to be "Unsuccessful," is Successful in both semesters.
• Turkish: The final result for the "Turkish Language I" course, which was claimed to be "Unsuccessful," is Successful.
• Principles of Atatürk and History of Revolution: The first-year final grade for the course, which was said to have been "passed on the third attempt," was recorded as 70 (Good), and the second-year final grade as 65 (Average).
WHAT DID FUAT UĞUR SAY?
Fuat Uğur had used the following expressions in his post on his X account regarding İmamoğlu's course grades:
Beyond the cancellation of his diploma due to his lateral transfer being illegal and based on forged documents, there is an even more serious incident. That is the severity of the exam grades from the years he studied in the Istanbul University Faculty of Business Administration English Business department and the fact that the exam result document stating he was successful in all courses during the time he "studied" is not in the court file.
So his graduation is suspicious.
According to the information Attorney Yaşar Baş obtained from the court file, I am sharing some of Ekrem İmamoğlu's exam grades below: (out of 100)
Basic Concepts of Law: 20
Public Finance: 43
Financial Management: Fail
Behavioral Sciences: Fail
Fine Arts: Unsuccessful
Business Policy: 0 (Zero)
Production and Inventory Management: 19
Marketing Principles: 3 (5 in the make-up exam)
Turkish: Unsuccessful
Information Processing: 10
He was able to pass the History of Revolution course on the third attempt.
To bring these grades above 50, he would have needed to get 80-90, but his passing grades are also around 50-53.
In short, the cancellation of the diploma obtained from this school must have a serious reason other than the lateral transfer, such as failure.
