The funeral for 19-year-old Semih Çelik, who murdered two women, was cancelled due to potential security concerns. The funerals for the two women murdered by Çelik were held earlier today (October 5).

The funeral prayers for Ayşenur Halil and İkbal Uzuner, whom the killer murdered in Eyüpsultan and Fatih, were held at separate mosques.

19-year-old Çelik had committed suicide by jumping from the city walls in Edirnekapı.

The funeral prayer for Uzuner, one of the two murdered women, was held at Fatih Mosque at noon.

The ceremony was attended by Uzuner's relatives and friends, as well as Istanbul Governor Davut Gül and Fatih Mayor Mehmet Ergün Turan.

Before the prayer, Uzuner's relatives fell ill in the mosque courtyard.

İkbal Uzuner was laid to rest at the Edirnekapı Martyrdom Cemetery following the funeral prayer.

Ayşenur Halil was laid to rest in the family plot at Karlıtepe Cemetery following the funeral ceremony held at Gaziosmanpaşa Pazariçi Saadet Mosque.
