Future Party Leader Davutoğlu's conference cancelled: 'I know these dirty tricks well'

Kayseri Erciyes University has cancelled Future Party Leader Ahmet Davutoğlu's conference on "Gaza and Palestine."
Future Party Deputy Chairman Mustafa Gözel reacted to the situation with a statement on his social media account.
Gözel stated that after learning about the program, the Rectorate officials gave instructions to "not provide a hall for this program, do not even accept an application, and say that all halls are full."

Stating that what was done to Davutoğlu is also contrary to state decorum, the full statement by Gözel is as follows:
"The 26th Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Professor Doctor Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu, had received an invitation from students at Kayseri Erciyes University some time ago, and was requested to give a conference at their university titled 'The Search for Justice and Diplomacy in the 21st Century' with the motto 'A Conscientious Stance Against Genocide,' focusing on Gaza and Palestine.
This program, for which we had agreed on the day and time and which was completely removed from domestic politics, was unfortunately cancelled. Why, you ask? Because the Rectorate officials learned about the program and called the deans, giving the instruction: 'Do not provide a hall for this program, do not even accept an application, and say that all halls are full.' I have spent years with these organizations. I have given lectures at over fifty universities. I have organized nearly two hundred university programs. Therefore, I know these dirty tricks well.
What the Erciyes University Rectorate has done to Mr. Davutoğlu, who is a man of science, does not fit the ethics of science, and this disrespect shown to a Prime Minister is also contrary to state decorum. Mr. Davutoğlu will give numerous conferences focused on Gaza at universities and institutes he has been invited to in Oxford and London between October 16-21.
It is an inexplicable absurdity for a statesman and man of science, who receives invitations from universities in almost every country in the world, to be subjected to this in his own country."
