A statement was issued by the Future Party regarding the cordial images that emerged at the reception. Party spokesperson Ufuk Karcı, in a post on his social media account X, commented on the photo showing President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu side-by-side, stating, "In a period where normalization is being sought in every field in our country, such images should be interpreted as a positive sign, and no other intention should be sought behind them."

“Following the opening ceremony of the new legislative year of the TBMM held yesterday, the following statement has become necessary to address the questions in the minds of our nation regarding the images captured:

Our Chairman, Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu, participated in the opening yesterday, just as he has in previous years, by both observing the special session and attending the subsequent reception. As the host, TBMM Speaker Mr. Numan Kurtulmuş invited all political party chairmen to the hall where President Mr. Erdoğan was also present during the reception.

Our Chairman, like the other political party chairmen, accepted the invitation and took his place in the hall; at that moment, upon the Assembly Speaker offering them a seat, he sat side-by-side with the President. Our Chairman conveyed his wishes for the new legislative year to be auspicious for our country and our nation, both to the President and to the distinguished audience present there.

It is quite natural for political parties to come together without discrimination; it is also quite normal for our Chairman, Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu, to have come together with the President during such a ceremony, just as he did with other political party leaders.

In a period where normalization is being sought in every field in our country, such images should be interpreted as a positive sign, and no other intention should be sought behind them.”
