A statement has been issued regarding the switch to the AKP by Serap Yazıcı, who became an Antalya deputy candidate for the CHP due to the Nation Alliance formed by the Republican People's Party in the 2023 elections and her status as a founder of the Future Party, and was subsequently elected as a deputy.

Serap Yazıcı Özbudun spoke, saying, "The votes I received were earned through my own hard work. I did not mislead my voters. I stand behind everything I promised them. There are values that are identified with my identity. I am not an ordinary politician. I am a professor of constitutional law. I taught for 25 years."

When asked about her switch to the AKP, Özbudun replied, "The votes I received are votes earned through my own hard work. I did not mislead my voters. I stand behind the same promises I made to them during this campaign."

Using the expression, "If they consider this an immoral stance, I would like to ask the CHP members this: why did they accept Aykut Kaya, who was elected as a deputy from Antalya on the IYI Party lists, into the CHP?" Özbudun stated that the 1995 constitutional amendment allowed deputies to resign from one political party and join another, and that she was exercising a democratic constitutional right.
