16 former CHP deputies write letter to Özgür Özel following Kılıçdaroğlu's 'purification' call!

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who remained silent during the operations against CHP municipalities and the trustee case, issued a video statement following the CHP's decision not to visit İmralı, stating that the party should play an effective role in the opening process. Kılıçdaroğlu also issued a call for the "party to purify itself" regarding investigations into allegations of corruption and bribery.

While Kılıçdaroğlu's statement continues to occupy the political agenda, 16 people who served as deputies for the CHP in different terms wrote a letter to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.

The letter included the following statements:

"Dear Mr. Chairman,

THE REPUBLICAN PEOPLE'S PARTY, THE PIONEER OF A CLEAN SOCIETY AND CLEAN POLITICS,

IS THE PRIDE OF TURKEY

The legal personality and corporate identity of the Republican People's Party have been targeted through the indictments of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Beşiktaş Municipality (Aziz İhsan Aktaş); operations are being carried out against our party and our municipalities using legal tools. It is clear that this approach, which aims to cast a shadow over the CHP as a whole before the trial process has even begun, is not ordinary.

The Republican People's Party was founded on battlefields; it has never allowed corruption, bribery, or suspicion at any point in its history. If there is anyone within the party involved in a crime, the CHP will do what is necessary within the framework of the law. However, every attempt to tarnish the legal personality of the CHP is a direct disrespect to the legacy of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

Throughout its 102-year history, the CHP has been the conscience of this country. It has the power to purify not only itself but also Turkish politics from corruption and dirty relationships. This duty must be fulfilled without delay.

Dear Mr. Chairman;

In this context, our suggestions are as follows:

1. Regardless of their position or duty, an independent internal party committee should be established to investigate allegations regarding party members who are subject to various claims or who state that they have been clearly slandered; the investigation process should be conducted quickly and transparently.

2. If evidence and indications regarding the allegations are obtained as a result of the investigation, necessary measures should be taken independently of the judicial process, and the disciplinary process should be initiated.

3. Party members who claim to have been slandered should be ensured to file criminal complaints against the individuals they accuse; a disciplinary process should also be initiated for those who do not resort to this path.

4. At the end of all these processes, those responsible for the incident, the actions taken against them, and the subsequent steps should be announced to the public in a transparent manner.
