According to Cübbeli Ahmet, the reason there was no destruction in the earthquake was his prayers

While Istanbul was shaken by numerous earthquakes on April 23, the largest of which were 5.9 and 6.2, causing fear and panic, there was no loss of life or destruction, and the public spent the night in the streets and parks.

While geoscientists were taking jabs at each other on television screens after the earthquake, Ahmet Mahmut Ünlü, affiliated with the İsmailağa Community and known to the public as 'Cübbeli Ahmet Hoca', attributed the lack of destruction in the earthquake to themselves.

"I HAD A DREAM ABOUT AN EARTHQUAKE ON MARCH 1"

In a speech on his YouTube channel, Ünlü said, "You know, around March 1, at the beginning of Ramadan, I had a dream about an earthquake and I had told it. I even told it during an iftar chat. Since there were no Thursday chats at that time. I mean, I stated that there was no collapse, that nothing happened, but that we were very frightened, and then we gathered on March 19 to perform the prayer of need (hacet namazı) for the warding off of calamities."

Ünlü used the following expressions:

"THE FACT THAT THERE WAS NO DESTRUCTION WAS A SIGN AND INDICATION OF THAT"

"You know the prayers of need. We performed them with the participation of thousands of people, men and women. Thank God, the Lord accepted and granted them. We hope so with His grace and generosity. The fact that there was no destruction was a sign and indication of that. Meanwhile, some earthquake experts spoke on the channels today; one of them made a statement to the effect that the expected Istanbul earthquake has passed with this, that this has warded it off. God knows best, of course, the Lord knows. However, if you remember our prayers:

"WE PRAYED, 'RELEASE THE GAS AND DO NOT DESTROY US'"

Oh Lord, do not destroy us. If you are definitely going to cause an earthquake, the decree of fate is, of course, sealed, it is certain. You say in the Quran... It is finalized and finished. The knowledge in eternity does not change, so we prayed like this, you must remember with these exact terms, 'Release the gas little by little, instead of it being 7.5-8 at once, let it be 4, 5, 6 like this. Release the gas and do not destroy us.'

"I ATTRIBUTE IT TO THE AMENS OF THE CONGREGATION"

Of course, I am not talking about the authority of my prayers. Although Efendi Hazretleri once gave me the good news that 'Your prayers are answered,' I attribute it to the amens of the congregation."
