Actress Sevil Akdağ killed her influencer friend Elif Kırav... Relatives speak out: New details about the murder

A mind-numbing murder took place last Friday in Istanbul's Fatih district. Actress Sevil Akdağ killed young woman Elif Kırav with 53 stab wounds at her home in İskenderpaşa neighborhood, following an argument that broke out for reasons yet unknown.

After the incident, Akdağ, who cut her own wrists, fled the house shortly after.

NEIGHBORS ENCOUNTERED A CHILLING SCENE

Unable to reach the young woman, her loved ones called neighbors in the apartment building and asked them to check on her home. The neighbors who arrived at the house found Elif Kırav lying on the floor covered in blood. Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Examinations by health teams determined that Kırav had lost her life.

CAUGHT IN ESENYURT AFTER POLICE PURSUIT

Police teams, who launched an investigation following the murder, tracked suspect Sevil Akdağ by examining security cameras in the surrounding area. Akdağ was caught and taken into custody in Esenyurt.

The actress, whose procedures at the police station were completed, was referred to the Istanbul Courthouse. Brought before the on-duty criminal judgeship of peace, Akdağ was arrested and sent to prison.

"SEVİL AKDAĞ WAS OBSESSED WITH ELİF"

Speaking after the horrific event, Elif Kırav's loved ones claimed that Sevil Akdağ had been obsessed with Kırav for a long time and committed this murder out of jealousy. Elif Kırav's close friend, Bade Taş, explained in a video statement she published on social media that Sevil Akdağ displayed an obsessive attitude toward Elif.

"SHE WOULD CONSTANTLY CALL HER WHEN SHE DRANK ALCOHOL"

Bade Taş said the following in her statement:

"Actually, I didn't want to make a statement like this, but as we stay silent, the truth is being distorted. Elif was like family to me. Sevil was Elif's childhood friend, but I only saw her twice at birthday parties. When she drank alcohol or took other substances, she would constantly call Elif. She would cry and say that no one around her loved her. She was jealous of Elif. We didn't want to include her in our circle of friends."

MOTHER ŞÜKRAN KIRAV: "SHE WAS IMITATING MY DAUGHTER"

Elif Kırav's mother, Şükran Kırav, also said on a television program she attended that her daughter had been followed by Sevil Akdağ for a long time and that she was uncomfortable with this situation. Mother Kırav stated that Sevil exhibited jealous and obsessive behaviors, imitated the clothes her daughter wore, and that this situation wore Elif down significantly.
