The National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission, established as part of the new "Terror-Free Turkey" process that began with MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's call to the leader of the separatist terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan, and aims for the PKK to lay down its arms, has met for the third time.
The commission was formed to discuss steps similar to the resolution process on the floor of Parliament. However, the progress of the process continues to spark debate in political corridors.

According to a report by Cumhuriyet, the AKP members of the commission met before the meeting to evaluate the process.
It is stated that in AKP corridors, some senior figures are openly asking the question, "How do we turn back from this path?"

AKP sources emphasized that these steps, similar to the resolution process, have found almost no response in public opinion. A party official summarized the situation with the words, "Social support for the opening process is almost zero. We cannot convince the public. Posts related to it on social media are being flooded with profanity."
The process has caused unease, particularly among AKP's own voter base. As the party leadership discusses the potential political cost of continuing the process, opinions that the steps to be taken should be reconsidered are gaining weight.
