WHAT HAD ERDOĞAN SAID?
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had expressed his opposition to MP transfers in previous years. In a statement made in 2013, Erdoğan had used the following expressions:
“If a person enters an election under the flag of a party, they act together with that party. If they are leaving, they do not just leave the party; if they are honest, they also leave parliament and leave their seat as an MP. That is what should happen; the moral aspect of the matter requires this. But this is not something granted to everyone.”
