GOVERNOR'S OFFICE ANNOUNCED THE CLOSURE
Due to the heavy snowfall that affected Istanbul the previous day, education was suspended for one day on Tuesday in the districts of Küçükçekmece, Beykoz, Arnavutköy, Esenyurt, Avcılar, Sultangazi, Beylikdüzü, Büyükçekmece, and Başakşehir.
Subsequently, the Istanbul Governor's Office announced that schools were closed across the city on Wednesday, February 12.
Istanbul Governor Davut Gül said in his statement yesterday, "The snowfall, which continues to affect Istanbul, is negatively impacting life due to the effect of cold weather. According to meteorological data, snowfall and cold weather are expected to continue to be effective across the city.
For this reason, education has been suspended for one day in all educational institutions across Istanbul on Wednesday, 12.02.2025. On the other hand, disabled employees, those with chronic illnesses, and pregnant personnel working in public institutions and organizations will also be considered on administrative leave on Wednesday, 12.02.2025."
