Another piece of bad news for Özlem Çerçioğlu!

Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu resigned from the CHP and joined the AKP in a ceremony attended by President Erdoğan. 

It was alleged that her switch was motivated by a desire to escape the increasing investigations into CHP-run municipalities. For this reason, public sentiment was measured through a survey conducted by GENAR Research. While the trust rating for Çerçioğlu remained at very low levels in the survey, interesting data was also obtained regarding the reasons for her switch.When participants in the survey were asked about the reasons for Özlem Çerçioğlu's move to the AKP, responses such as "To avoid arrest" and "Because she was afraid" stood out.

The total of these two responses accounted for approximately 30% of the participants. On the other hand, the rate of those who said Çerçioğlu switched to the AKP "to serve Aydın" was recorded at only 12.8%. The rate of those who said "there were no conditions to engage in politics within the CHP" was stated as 8%.

TRUST IN ÇERÇİOĞLU HITS ROCK BOTTOM

One of the most striking results of the survey was that trust in Özlem Çerçioğlu had hit rock bottom. Only 2.6% of the participants answered "yes" to the question, "Do you trust Özlem Çerçioğlu?" This low trust rating showed that the public's confidence in her was largely shaken following her move to the AKP. 

Another noteworthy question in the research was, "Would you vote for Özlem Çerçioğlu if she were to run as a candidate from the AK Party in the upcoming election?"

When this question was posed to CHP voters, only 4.1% answered "yes," while a large proportion of 75.3% answered "no."

This rate revealed that Özlem Çerçioğlu would not find significant support in an election outside of her party.

The survey results highlight a significant decline in her political standing.
