As debates regarding the presidential elections continue, the results of a new poll have once again brought bad news for the government.
While the question of whether President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will run for office again remains on the agenda, the latest public opinion poll shows Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş leading by a clear margin against President Erdoğan.
WHAT DO THE POLL RESULTS SAY?
Significant results emerged from the poll, which was conducted between July 24-26 with 2,050 people across 26 provinces.
Ekrem İmamoğlu surpassed President Erdoğan by receiving 45% of the vote against Erdoğan's 42.5%. Mansur Yavaş, on the other hand, placed ahead of Erdoğan's 41.7% with a vote share of 47.3%.
The poll's confidence interval was announced as 95%, with a margin of error of ±1.95%. The survey was conducted using the computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) method.
