Autopsy report for Sinan Ateş case defendant Serdar Öktem completed

The body of MHP-affiliated lawyer Serdar Öktem, a defendant in the Sinan Ateş murder case who lost his life in an armed attack while in his vehicle in Şişli yesterday evening, was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute following investigations at the scene. Institute experts completed the examinations conducted throughout the night.
LETHAL WOUNDS DETAILED IN REPORT
According to the report prepared by the Forensic Medicine Institute, it was determined that all of the bullets that struck Öktem in the face, head, and left arm were lethal. The fluoroscopy examination reported that bullet fragments were found in the head, left shoulder, collarbone, and facial regions.
As a result of the post-mortem examination and autopsy procedures carried out under video recording, it was stated that entry-exit wounds were detected on the head, and two bullet entry holes were found side-by-side on the left arm.
SEVERE BRAIN DAMAGE
Autopsy findings indicated fractures in the skull and facial bones, brain hemorrhage, and severe destruction of brain tissue. Furthermore, it was noted that major blood vessels were damaged, leading to internal and external bleeding.
“EACH ONE LETHAL ON ITS OWN”
The report stated that the cause of death was “internal and external bleeding resulting from brain hemorrhage, tissue destruction, and major vessel injuries that developed alongside fractures in the skull and facial bones due to firearm injury.”
Forensic medicine experts pointed out that each of the injuries sustained to his head, face, and left arm was lethal on its own.
It was reported that the clothing Serdar Öktem was wearing has been sent to the Police Criminal Laboratory to determine the shooting distance.
