Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made statements regarding the agenda to the Türkgün newspaper, which is close to his party.
Making assessments regarding the second resolution process, of which he is the architect, Bahçeli also reacted to the events that took place during Barzani's visit to Şırnak.
Bahçeli also responded to the allegations made by former AKP deputy Şamil Tayyar, who claimed that the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan, had said that 'there would be a coup within the MHP if the process is not successful.'
“A coup is supposedly going to be staged against me from within the MHP. To be honest, I smiled when I thought about how a coup plotter could emerge from the democracy-loving Nationalist-Idealist Movement. Slander and accusations cannot turn us from our path. All of these are nonsense.”
Arguing that the second resolution process, called a Turkey without terrorism, is the most effective step and breakthrough in the history of the Republic, Bahçeli stated, "There is absolutely no question of any concession, delay, or the slightest hesitation regarding the goal. The arrow has left the bow. The ships have been burned. Our determination is at an unassailable and indisputable level."
Claiming that there are those seeking provocation regarding the process, Bahçeli noted that their hopes would be dashed, stating, "No one has the right to waste or squander this high level. It is inevitable to interpret attitudes and behaviors in the opposite direction as a counter-resistance against the nation and the state. A historic opportunity threshold is before us."
The most striking part of Bahçeli's interview was his assessment regarding the visit of Iraqi KDP leader Masoud Barzani to Cizre, Şırnak.
"I have nothing to say about Barzani's participation as a guest. His being hosted is a sign of our nation's magnanimity and hospitality. However, the sovereign rights and law of the Republic of Turkey have unfortunately been violated," the MHP leader said, and continued:
“Whether you call it protocol rules or custom, everything has been violated. Barzani currently holds no state office. He has only entered our country as a guest.”
'IT IS A DISGRACE IN ONE WORD'
“The fact that foreign uniformed soldiers are walking around on our homeland with long-barreled weapons is a disgrace in one word.
It is a premeditated attack on the dignity, historical reputation, and sovereign character of the Republic of Turkey.
We cannot tolerate our beloved homeland, which is the rightful property of the Turkish nation and whose borders were drawn with the blood of martyrs, being opened to discussion in any way, being used for calculations, or being left to suspicion and doubt."
"THERE IS NO ONE PROMISING AMNESTY"
Responding to the threatening statements of KCK terrorist Bese Hozat, Bahçeli stated, "There is no one promising amnesty. It is clear before history and conscience which crimes have been committed."
