A decision has been reached in the diploma investigation concerning Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
The university diploma İmamoğlu received 35 years ago has been cancelled. Istanbul University decided to cancel the diplomas of 28 people who were determined to have transferred in a similar manner during the same period, in addition to İmamoğlu.
While the cancellation of İmamoğlu's diploma has drawn widespread reaction, the identities of the individuals who transferred to the university alongside İmamoğlu in 1990 have become a subject of curiosity.
