Can Ataklı's striking 'tape' commentary: Everyone within the state has been collecting tapes

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel shook the agenda with the speech he delivered at his party's group meeting. Özel brought back to the agenda the "tape" allegations regarding Halil Falyalı, who was murdered in Cyprus, which were previously voiced by organized crime leader Sedat Peker.

"On one hand, 45 tapes... 40 exist, 5 are missing," Özel said, reminding that these allegations were first raised by Sedat Peker, who also mentioned the name of Süleyman Soylu. Suggesting that the allegations were swept under the rug, Özel said, "He was removed from the ministry after that day, but he is being kept on the sidelines."

"HE'S TRYING TO SAVE HIMSELF, ERDOĞAN SHOULD WATCH"

Özgür Özel also addressed President Erdoğan directly, saying, "Do not look far for those trying to involve your family." In his speech, he used the phrase, "There is a very 'Soylu' (noble/loyal) behavior, very 'Soylu'," making a reference to Süleyman Soylu.

Pointing to rumors that the tapes involve not only Soylu but also the Erdoğan family, Özel sent a message saying, "We have those tapes too; am I the only one in them? Tell Özel, let him talk a bit about those whose surname is Erdoğan as well."

ATAKLI: EVERYONE IN THE STATE HAS BEEN ACCUMULATING AGAINST EACH OTHER

Journalist Can Ataklı evaluated this move by Özel in his column. Making an important comment on the internal structure of the state based on Özel's allegations, Ataklı said, "Various units or individuals within the state have stored tapes and documents against one another."

"FALYALI COULD NOT BE ARRESTED, NO CASE COULD BE OPENED"

Ataklı drew attention to the fact that there was no lawsuit filed or arrest attempt made in Turkey regarding Halil Falyalı, who was murdered in Cyprus.

"Falyalı was someone wanted in Turkey. Cyprus is not a country where you cannot make your word count. You could neither take him into custody nor open a case," said Ataklı, alleging that some high-level bureaucrats were in cooperation with Falyalı. "I looked, ministers had gone, his own name is mentioned. These probably don't just come out of nowhere," he said.

"A VERY UNPLEASANT STAGE FOR THE GOVERNMENT"

Pointing out that this situation is quite challenging for the government, Ataklı said, "This matter has reached a very unpleasant stage for the government. Because it is difficult for them to overcome this, and look, they cannot make a statement. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not denying the incident. In the accusations directed at Hakan Fidan, they are protecting only the minister, not the ministry."

"WHAT PEKER SAYS SOUNDS CONVINCING"

Responding to criticisms regarding Sedat Peker's allegations such as "Are you believing a mafia leader?", Ataklı used the following expressions:

"Well, what should I do, brother, if a mafia leader is saying it. Besides, what such people say sounds convincing to me. Even if there is exaggeration, it sounds convincing. Because they are very much on the inside. And also, they have been hurt."
