Clear convention message from Özgür Özel: He also touched on poll results!

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel stated that he has no concerns regarding the court case to be heard on June 30 concerning the cancellation of his party's 38th Ordinary Convention.

"They already staged a coup on March 19. Our friends are inside. The results that come your way are about whether you can carry that burden or not," said Özel, rejecting the debates directed at the party over the court process.

Speaking to Cumhuriyet newspaper columnist Engin Deniz, Özgür Özel targeted certain figures within the party, saying, "There are those who, supposedly with a party identity, have the party debated on television. They are falling into a trap." Stating that these debates are being conducted to divert the agenda, Özel said, "We have 11 mayors inside, we are struggling for our lives. It really saddens me that such frivolous topics are being discussed at this time."

"I RECOGNIZE NEITHER A TRUSTEE NOR A NULLITY DECISION"

Özgür Özel also warned against attempts that could harm the party's institutional structure. "Don't even try it. Afterwards, I will recognize neither a trustee nor a nullity decision. I will not let anyone break the hierarchy or the resistance of the CHP," he said, responding to intervention efforts from both inside and outside.

Touching on poll results, Özel announced that the CHP is at least 7 points ahead of the AKP in recent public opinion surveys. "Our party members and those who pin their hopes on the opposition should not lose their morale. The party is standing tall, the Chairman is standing tall. There is nothing to fear; we will wage the greatest struggle against that as well," he said.

"FORTIFYING THE INTERNAL FRONT IS OUR JOB"

Referring to President Erdoğan's recent rhetoric on "strengthening the internal front," Özel said that the opposition's success in the March 31 elections was based on this approach:

"The Turkey Alliance won with an understanding that sees differences not as separation but as richness, speaks to the voter at eye level, and does not act bossy toward anyone."

Özel called on the government and added the following:

"We are the experts at fortifying the internal front. If they want us to help, they should first stop applying the law of enmity toward us and become a legitimate political interlocutor."
