In Istanbul's Sancaktepe district, Ayşe Karlangıç, who went out to take the trash out from her home, noticed sounds coming from inside a container as she was about to dispose of her garbage.
4 PUPPIES DIED
When Karlangıç opened the tied-up grocery bag from which the sounds were coming, she saw that there were 11 puppies inside.
It was observed that 4 of the newborn puppies, which still had their umbilical cords attached, had died, while the other 7 were in a semi-conscious state. Karlangıç took the 7 puppies to her home, placing them next to a radiator and attempting to warm them by blowing warm air with a hair dryer.
Karlangıç also began feeding the puppies with milk and formula she bought from a pet shop. The moments when the citizen removed the dogs from the container were captured on a mobile phone camera.
THEY TIED THE BAG MULTIPLE TIMES
Ayşe Karlangıç, who found the puppies thrown into the container in a tied bag, said, "I heard a sound while taking out the trash. At first, I couldn't understand what it was. As the sounds continued, I poked around a bit more; at first, I thought they were kittens. I noticed the bag inside the trash was moving. We pulled the bag out of the trash with the help of an iron rod.
They had tied the mouth of the bag 4-5 times, the heartless people. When I opened the bag, 11 puppies came out. 4 of them died. 7 remained alive. I couldn't leave them there like that, so I brought them to my home. I gave them food and I am trying to warm their bodies.
Their umbilical cords hadn't even fallen off yet. There is no such thing as this much cruelty. I will look after them until a care facility is found for the animals. These animals need to receive mother's milk. At least they will be fed better," she said.
