Did Mor ve Ötesi receive 71 million for their Ankara concert? The band has released their first statement!

Following the controversy surrounding the high concert fees paid by municipalities to artists like Şevval Sam and Ebru Gündeş, the fee allegedly received by Mor ve Ötesi from the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality for their concert at the Atatürk Forest Farm on May 19, 2024, has become a topic of discussion.

In a statement on their official social media account, the band denied the allegations, stating that they did not receive the mentioned amount.

Concert fees allegedly paid by municipalities, whose budgets consist of public funds, continue to remain on the agenda in relation to the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality.

Responding to the claim that Mor ve Ötesi, one of the prominent bands of the Turkish rock scene, received 71 million for their concert in Ankara on May 19, the band said, "We thank the public and our sensible listeners who naturally approached this unrealistic 'rumor' with skepticism. We believe that Mr. Mansur Yavaş or the officials of the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality will also inform the public in detail."

In the statement made on their social media account, the band included the following expressions:

"The allegations that we 'received' the mentioned amount of 71 million TL are absolutely untrue and highly fantastical. We thank the public and our sensible listeners who naturally approached this unrealistic 'rumor' with skepticism. We believe that Mr. Mansur Yavaş or the officials of the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality will also inform the public in detail.

In the 28 years since our founding, we have taken great care not to be the subject of any waste of public resources. We will continue to do so. We respectfully announce to the public with the hope that rumors about us such as 'Mor ve Ötesi hunted whales, bought an island, or is one of the 3 families controlling the world' will not be given any credence."
