Drought alarm in Istanbul's water supply dams

There is a drought-related decline in the 10 dams that meet Istanbul's water needs.

While the average water rate of the 10 dams was measured at 81 percent in March, this rate has fallen to 30.87 percent according to the latest data. There is also a significant drop in the occupancy rates of the Kazandere and Papuçdere dams, which are located in the Vize district of Kırklareli and meet Istanbul's water needs.

While the Kazandere Dam was at the 70 percent level in March, its water level has fallen to 10.49 percent according to the latest data, and from 77.04 percent to 7.34 percent in Papuçdere.

The occupancy rates of the 10 dams that meet Istanbul's water needs are as follows;

In Ömerli Dam, from 91.05 to 35.07,

In Sazlıdere Dam, from 60.37 percent to 35.18 percent,

In Büyükçekmece Dam, from 76.97 percent to 30.61 percent,

In Alibey Dam, from 70.01 percent to 17.29 percent,

In Terkos Dam, from 84.88 percent to 34.08 percent,

In Kazandere Dam, from 77.67 percent to 10.49 percent,

In Elmalı Dam, from 91.79 percent to 71.67 percent,

In Darlık Dam, from 88.96 percent to 30.74 percent,

In Istranca Dam, it has fallen from 51.81 percent to 25.76 percent.
