Dust transport from Syria to affect Turkey! 'Do not open windows'
Health warnings have been issued across Turkey due to dust transport originating from Syria. Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen pointed out that the dust could carry bacteria and fungi, advising that windows should not be opened and masks should be worn.

According to forecasts by the General Directorate of Meteorology, while no precipitation is expected across Turkey this week, it has been announced that 'dust transport' is expected in the Eastern Mediterranean, Eastern Anatolia, and Southeastern Anatolia regions.
Warning about the dust transport, Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen said, "Let's not open our windows for two or three days, and let's wear masks when going outside."
Prof. Dr. Şen also listed the provinces that will be affected by the dust transport one by one.
IT MAY CARRY FUNGI AND BACTERIA
CNN TÜRK Meteorology Consultant Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen made the following statements during a live broadcast:
"With spring, the weather is warming up. There is no rain; we are entering spring weather. Along with this, we are also entering a period of dusty weather. Where does it come from? There are two paths. One is dust coming from North Africa, and the other is dust rising from the surface in Syria and Iraq. Both of these types of dust manifest themselves in the spring months and show their effect over Turkey. For the first time, it is coming as surface dust from Syria and Iraq. It will be effective in the region extending from Mardin, Şanlıurfa, Kilis, Kahramanmaraş, and Malatya up to Ağrı. It will arrive at a sensitive concentration.
It can cause problems for those with respiratory diseases. The dust will be a bit more intense tomorrow. A characteristic of this dust is that, because it comes from the surface, it can carry fungi and bacteria. When we inhale it while it carries fungi and bacteria, it can create certain problems in our lungs or bronchi. When it is very dense, do not go outside without wearing a mask.
Tomorrow, it looks unhealthy around Konya, Mersin, and Niğde. It will continue on Friday and decrease on Saturday. It will be at its peak tomorrow. It appears to be a bit more intense in areas from Malatya and Ağrı to Mersin, Kilis, and Mardin. Let's not open our windows for two or three days."
