The Van Governor's Office has announced that education has been suspended for 1 day due to the snowfall, icing, and fog affecting the city.
The following was noted in the Governor's Office statement:
"As a result of the assessment made with our Regional Directorate of Meteorology, due to the heavy snowfall, icing, and fog continuing to affect Van, education and training have been suspended for one day on Friday, December 13, 2024, in all official/private formal and non-formal education institutions throughout our province.
Our disabled and pregnant personnel working in public institutions and organizations, including Guidance and Research Centers and Rehabilitation Centers, will be considered on administrative leave.
Working mothers whose children attend daycare or kindergarten will also be considered on leave. Mothers working in the public sector with children aged 0-6 are on administrative leave."
