Erdoğan expects an explosion in votes from the dissolution process: Otherwise, the 'opening' is in danger

Journalist Can Ataklı evaluated the separatist organization PKK's decision to dissolve itself and the political consequences of this step in his column in Nefes newspaper. Saying, "Whoever I talk to, I always get skeptical answers," Ataklı conveyed that a large portion of the electorate either does not believe in this development or thinks that the situation will not change.

"ERDOĞAN EXPECTS AN EXPLOSION IN VOTES"

Ataklı stated that Erdoğan expects an explosion in votes following the dissolution decision and continued his article as follows:

"I believe Erdoğan is expecting an explosion in votes from this operation. If he is disappointed in this regard, and if the loss of blood in the AKP continues, the fate of the opening could also be in danger."

Stating that not enough time has passed to measure how this development is reflected in public opinion, Ataklı used the expressions, "An honest polling company does not conduct a survey immediately after such a major development. At least a week must pass. Everyone should talk, analyze, and then the trend should be measured."

"IF THERE IS AN INCREASE IN POLLS, A CONSTITUTIONAL STEP MAY FOLLOW"

Evaluating possible scenarios in his article, Ataklı commented, "If a serious increase is seen in AKP's votes in the polls to be conducted a week later, Erdoğan may take action for a constitutional amendment."

According to Ataklı, Erdoğan's inability to turn this process into electoral gains will affect not only vote percentages but also the future of the opening process.
