Erdoğan had met with DEM Party: The next stage in the new resolution process

In the new resolution process, which is architected by Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and referred to by the government as a 'Terror-Free Turkey,' the DEM Party Imralı Delegation, which conducts negotiations with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan, went to the Presidential Palace on April 10 and met with AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

While Erdoğan established contact with the DEM Party for the first time in 13 years, the meeting lasted 1 hour and 25 minutes.

Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Pervin Buldan from the DEM Party Imralı Delegation were present at the meeting, while MIT Undersecretary İbrahim Kalın and AKP Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala accompanied Erdoğan. According to the report by Uğraş Bingöl from NTV, Pervin Buldan of the DEM Party announced that they will meet with Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç next week.

Buldan stated that this meeting will address the legal regulations that need to be made in Parliament in order for democratic politics to gain strength.

DEMAND FOR IMPROVEMENT OF TERRORIST LEADER ÖCALAN'S CONDITIONS

Issues such as changes to execution regulations and the release of critically ill convicts are expected to come to the fore on the agenda. In addition, the improvement of the prison conditions of Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, is also among the demands.
