After AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan claimed that his party is the leading party in Turkey, CHP leader Özgür Özel responded to Erdoğan by saying, "If you were the leading party, you would be rushing to the ballot box with somersaults." Following the exchange of statements between the two leaders, ORC Research Company shared the results of its latest general election poll.

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his statement to journalists on the plane returning from Azerbaijan, said, "There is no such situation as the CHP being the leading party. I mean, no matter how many polls they conduct, we conduct and commission our own polls just as much. Currently, the leading party in Turkey is the AK Party."
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, in his response to these words by Erdoğan, stated, "If you were the leading party, you would be rushing to the ballot box with somersaults. I challenge you, I challenge you. ORC Research Company shared the results of the election poll it conducted in Istanbul and Ankara between June 30 and July 3.
In the poll conducted with 1,850 participants in Ankara, it was observed that the CHP was 4.4 points ahead of the AKP. The results of the poll in Ankara are as follows:
CHP: 35.2 percent
AKP: 30.8 percent
MHP: 7.3 percent
Zafer Party: 4.8 percent
İYİ Party: 4.5 percent
New Welfare Party: 3.7 percent
DEM Party: 3.2 percent
Great Unity Party: 2.3 percent
Native and National Party: 1.9 percent
Anahtar Party: 1.8 percent
Workers' Party of Turkey: 1.4 percent
Felicity Party: 1.1 percent
Other: 2 percent
The same research was conducted in Istanbul with 2,350 participants. The CHP also surpassed the AKP in Istanbul, taking the first place. The results of the poll in Istanbul are as follows:

AKP: 30.3 percent

MHP: 5.3 percent
Zafer Party: 4.5 percent
