Explosive claim from Murat Ağırel: AFAD aid found in the hands of a prostitution ring!

In Hatay, where the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes caused massive destruction, it has emerged that aid sent for earthquake victims was used for purposes other than intended. In the incident brought to light by Cumhuriyet columnist Murat Ağırel, it was determined that mattresses, blankets, and other materials that should have been distributed to earthquake victims by AFAD were used in a massage parlor in Hatay's Altınözü district where prostitution was taking place.

AFAD MATERIALS FOUND IN MASSAGE PARLOR!

Tracing the materials sent by AFAD for earthquake victims, Ağırel made the following statements regarding the matter:

"The mattresses, blankets, and other aid sent by AFAD to be distributed to earthquake victims were taken to a massage parlor where prostitution was taking place, through the mediation of a person who called himself an AFAD official in the Hatay/Altınözü district."

In the petition submitted to the prosecutor's office, it was stated that the products, which were invoiced to AFAD and paid for, were installed by A.Z., who serves as the Altınözü District Sports Manager, in a restaurant he operates himself.

LINKS BETWEEN PROSTITUTION RING AND OFFICIALS UNDER SCRUTINY

It was alleged that although reports were made to provincial and district prosecutor's offices regarding prostitution taking place at the massage parlor operated by an individual named Ö.K. and known by the name D.D., no investigation was launched due to lack of evidence, allegedly because of connections with a prosecutor in the district.

It was also claimed that when law enforcement officers wanted to take action, searches were obstructed by the relevant officials.

AIDS SUSPICION IN PROSTITUTION RING!

During the raid on the massage parlor, 8 foreign nationals without work permits were identified. These women were transferred to the Removal Center in Kayseri after their processing. However, it was reported that they were placed under quarantine after AIDS was suspected in some of the women.

HUNDREDS OF AFAD MATERIALS FOUND IN HOME AND WORKPLACE

In a raid on the home of district sports manager A.Z., who was placed under investigation following the incident, hundreds of aid materials belonging to AFAD were found. In a statement made after the incident was reflected in the press, AFAD officials announced that the person in question did not hold any position within their institution.

Murat Ağırel stated that the incident was not limited to the theft of aid materials and said the following:

"The connections between Ö.K., the owner of the massage parlor named D.D., district sports manager A.Z., and a prosecutor in the district must be investigated in depth. It is stated that these individuals vacationed together in Cyprus, stayed at the same hotel, and that the vacation expenses were paid by the owners of the massage parlor."

INVESTIGATION DEEPENING

Following the scandal that emerged, it was learned that the investigation into the matter has been expanded. It was stated that authorities have begun a detailed examination of how the AFAD materials changed hands and ended up in the possession of the prostitution ring.
