Famous honey brands also on the adulteration list!
Two famous honey brands have been added to the list of foods containing imitation and adulteration, as announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Following scandals involving pork in meatballs and horse and deer meat in ground beef, fraud has now also been uncovered in honey and whiskey.

As the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry continues to disclose food products that have been subject to imitation and adulteration, two of Turkey's leading honey brands have been included on the list.
Analyses conducted on honey from the Ankara-based brands "Abalı" and "Balpetek" revealed that the products contained imitation and adulterated substances. It was announced that the products of these brands, which are sold in chain supermarkets and e-commerce sites, do not qualify as natural honey.
In the list updated by the Ministry, following firms that mixed pork into meatballs and horse and deer meat into sucuk, it has now been revealed that processed cheese marketed as sheep's milk cheese contained no sheep's milk.
The widespread nature of these fraud cases makes the public's search for safe food even more difficult, while the Ministry continues its fight against fraud with determination.
Another surprising product included on the list was the famous whiskey brand Chivas Regal. During Ministry inspections, it was determined that the whiskey brand contained alcohol not permitted for use in food; the brand claimed that the inspected products were not their own and were counterfeit.
Chivas Regal officials pointed out that imitations of their products are circulating in the market and urged consumers to be cautious.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry warned citizens not to shop at markets they do not trust and to report any food they find suspicious to the ALO 174 Food Hotline.
