Allegations that MasterChef judge Somer Sivrioğlu had a falling out with TV8 and was fired from the program following a post he made on the April 2 boycott day became a trending topic on social media.

However, these allegations were denied through a statement made via Sivrioğlu's manager.

"I DO NOT FIND THE BOYCOTT APPROPRIATE IN SUCH AN ECONOMY"

Somer Sivrioğlu, who drew attention with the “We are closed” signs hung on restaurant doors on April 2, had received comments that he was supporting the boycott with this post.

However, in the statement made through his manager, he clarified the misunderstandings by saying, "I do not support the general protest; I do not find the boycott appropriate in such an economy."

Although Chef Somer did not make a direct statement following the news reports, he shared a photo from the MasterChef set on his social media account with the note, "We are at home, we have started."

This post was interpreted as an indication that he is continuing his role on the program.
