First poll results after the İmralı visit!

As part of the work carried out for over a year, the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission, established in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), visited İmralı in the final stage of the process following meetings held with various NGOs.

The commission's three-person delegation, consisting of members from the AKP, MHP, and DEM Party, returned to Istanbul after meeting with Abdullah Öcalan. It was stated that the details of the meeting would be shared at the next commission meeting.

CHP DID NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE VOTE

When a secret ballot method was applied in the critical vote where the question "Should a visit be made to İmralı?" was posed to the commission, the CHP did not participate in the vote, emphasizing transparency. The party stated before the vote that the voting should be conducted openly and announced that it would not provide a member to the delegation that would go to İmralı. Following this decision, it was stated that the New Way (Yeni Yol) group also adopted an attitude of abstaining and not providing a member to the delegation.

Discussions regarding whether the commission delegation should go to İmralı continued even after the visit took place. The content of the meeting and what information Öcalan would convey to the commission became a subject of curiosity.

The CHP's decision not to participate in the vote and not to provide a representative to the delegation received criticism from both the ruling front and the DEM Party. The CHP, in its successive statements, indicated that it stood behind the decision taken. The latest research has revealed how public reaction to this stance has taken shape.

RESULTS OF THE FIRST POLL AFTER THE İMRALI DECISION

In the Area Research poll shared by Nefes columnist Aytunç Erkin, striking data regarding the public's approach to the process and the stances of the parties were shared.

According to the research:

Rate of those who support the process: 60.2%

Rate of those who do not support it: 35.4%

The responses regarding the commission's visit to İmralı to listen to Öcalan are as follows:

Those who say "Should go": 27.5%

Those who say "Should not go": 65.7%

The results regarding the CHP's decision not to go to İmralı were announced as follows:

Those who view it positively: 54.8%

Those who view it negatively: 37.7%

The attitudes of party voters were also included in the research:

CHP voters: 86.2% support

İYİ Party voters: 83.9% support

Zafer Party voters: 95.8% support

DEM Party voters: 80.3% did not support

It was stated that the research was conducted in 26 provinces.

In the current election table formed after the İmralı decision, the vote shares of the parties after the distribution of undecided voters were ranked as follows:

CHP: 32.3%

AKP: 30.7%

DEM Party: 8.1%

İYİ Party: 7.1%

MHP: 6.1%

Zafer Party: 5.1%

Anahtar Party: 4.1%

YRP: 3.3%

TİP: 1.5%
