A forest fire broke out at 16:28 in the vicinity of Tayfur and Cumalı villages in the Gelibolu district of Çanakkale. Fanned by the wind, the flames grew and spread over a wide area.
While efforts to combat the fire continue, the Northern Line of the Historical Site has been temporarily closed. As a precautionary measure, the villages of Yolağzı, Küçükanafartalar, Büyükanafartalar, and Kumköy in the Eceabat district, and Karainebeyli village in the Gelibolu district were evacuated yesterday evening.
According to the latest statement from the Çanakkale Governor's Office, the village of Ilgadere in the Gelibolu district has also been evacuated as a precaution.

In the latest statement from the Çanakkale Governor's Office, it was stated, "Ilgadere village in Gelibolu has been evacuated as a precaution. Number of villages evacuated: 6. So far, the fire has not spread to residential areas. Our evacuated citizens have been taken to safe areas. Efforts to bring the fire under control continue by air and land."
As a precaution against the fire, the villages of Yolağzı, Küçükanafartalar, Büyükanafartalar, and Kumköy in the Eceabat district, and Karainebeyli village in the Gelibolu district were evacuated. The ongoing fire in the region was captured by drone in the morning hours.
