In an incident that occurred in Istanbul's Beyoğlu district, 30-year-old Hüseyin Beyazyıldız was found dead in his home, having been shot with a firearm. It was determined that Beyazyıldız, who was found motionless on the sofa after his brother entered the home with a spare key, had been shot in the heart.
BROTHER ENTERED THE HOME WITH A SPARE KEY
The incident took place on Monday, May 4, at approximately 19:45 in the Yenişehir neighborhood. According to the information obtained, Hasan Beyazyıldız entered the home of his brother, whom he had not heard from for some time, using a spare key.
Upon entering the home, the brother found his brother, Hüseyin Beyazyıldız, motionless on the sofa in the living room. Health and police teams were dispatched to the address upon notification. During the examination by the health teams, it was determined that Beyazyıldız had passed away.
DETERMINED TO HAVE BEEN SHOT IN THE HEART
In the initial examinations conducted by police teams at the scene, it was determined that Hüseyin Beyazyıldız had been shot in the heart. It was learned that no residue was found under Beyazyıldız's fingernails during the examination.
Furthermore, it was noted that there were no signs of assault or sharp object wounds on his body, and there was no evidence of forced entry on the doors or windows of the house.
UNLICENSED PISTOL AND NOTE FOUND
During the work of the crime scene investigation teams, an unlicensed pistol and ammunition belonging to the pistol were found next to the sofa. An empty shell casing was found under the sofa, and a cartridge was found in an ashtray.
Another detail that drew attention during the examinations in the house was a note stated to have been written on a laptop box. It was stated that the note contained the phrases, "Let it be given to an African person, one who studies fisheries."
LEARNED TO HAVE 11 CRIMINAL RECORDS
In the research conducted by police teams, it was learned that Hüseyin Beyazyıldız had a total of 11 criminal records, primarily for "using narcotic substances" and "violating the Law on Firearms."
It was stated that his brother, Hasan Beyazyıldız, said in his statement that he came to the house because he had not heard from his brother and that he opened the door with his own spare key. It was also learned that he explained that his brother had no enemies and had been released from prison about 6-7 months ago.

One of the striking details in the investigation was that Hüseyin Beyazyıldız had designated his brother as his "digital legacy contact" via his Apple account on April 9, about a month before his death.
Following the public prosecutor's examination at the scene, Beyazyıldız's body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue to determine the exact cause of death. The prosecutor's office has launched an investigation, treating the incident as a suspicious death.
HOW DOES THE “DIGITAL LEGACY CONTACT” WORK?
Providing an explanation on the subject, IT Specialist Osman Demircan said that technology companies are developing new models regarding access to users' digital data after death through digital legacy systems.
Demircan stated that a person can designate someone as a "digital legacy contact" while alive, and that this person can gain access to digital data after death with the necessary documents.
“APPLE PROVIDES A SPECIAL NUMBER”
Osman Demircan shared the following information in his statement:
"After defining a digital legacy contact, Apple gives that person a special ID, or number. When death occurs, this number and the death certificate are forwarded to Apple. Then, the digital legacy contact can gain access to files, notes, photos, and other data kept on iCloud."
Demircan said that the digital heir designated while the person is alive cannot access the data, and that access is only possible after the necessary procedures are completed following death.

Stating that the digital legacy system was developed especially due to data access problems experienced in the past, Demircan expressed that many phone manufacturers support similar applications today.
