It has emerged that lawyer Cem Duman, who was arrested as part of a criminal organization investigation, is the lawyer for Ümitcan Uygun, who became known following the deaths of Aleyna Çakır and Esra Hankulu.

Last Friday, an operation was carried out against criminal organization leader Selahattin Yılmaz and 13 individuals accompanying him.
Ten of the suspects referred to the courthouse were arrested. Among those arrested, along with Yılmaz, were Turgut Öner, Cem Çebi, Mehmet Tuğlu, and lawyers Semra Ilık and Cem Duman, who are members of the Ankara No. 2 Bar Association.
The name of the arrested lawyer, Cem Duman, has also appeared in cases that shook public opinion in the past.
It has emerged that Duman, who made headlines with the luxury details in his flashy office and the poses he struck with a poster of President Erdoğan, was the lawyer for Ümitcan Uygun, who is associated with the suspicious deaths of Aleyna Çakır (Sema Esen) and Esra Hankulu.
“HE TOOK ON HIS DEFENSE”
Journalist Nevşin Mengü stated in a post on her social media account, “Lawyer Cem Duman took photos with Ümitcan Uygun, who is being tried on charges of murdering Esra Hankulu and Aleyna Çakır, and shared them on Instagram. He supported Uygun.”
Following Mengü's post, journalist Emrullah Erdinç also drew attention to the matter. Erdinç described the Uygun-Duman relationship as follows:
“Ümitcan Uygun’s name first came to the agenda with the suspicious death of Aleyna Çakır (Sema Esen). Shortly before her death, footage emerged showing Uygun assaulting Çakır. During this process, while Uygun was taken into custody and arrested, Cem Duman took on his defense. He continued his legal support until his release from prison.”
