Former Habertürk Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Akif Ersoy was arrested in a major drug investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

Ersoy had announced that he was dismissed from Habertürk, which was placed under the administration of a trustee by the TMSF, after being taken into custody.

The accusations against Ersoy include "facilitating drug use" and "providing benefits in exchange for sexual intercourse."

Demirel stated that the names of the sons-in-law, Bilal Erdoğan, and Hakan Fidan are frequently mentioned in calculations for the post-Erdoğan era. Furthermore, Demirel's statements included the comment: "Mehmet Akif Ersoy was a name close to Hakan Fidan. Look at what we did to your man."
