He had died by suicide in prison! Investigation launched into İlker Gönen's lawyer

'Newborn gang' case defendant Dr. İlker Gönen died by suicide in his solitary confinement cell yesterday around 16:00.
Gönen's lawyer had made statements regarding the suicide on his social media account.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED
In a written statement issued by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated: "Regarding the incident where the individual named İlker Gönen died by suicide on 01/02/2025 while being held in custody at the Antalya High-Security Closed Penal Institution, and concerning the statements made by Attorney Aydın Mantar, who is registered with the Istanbul Bar Association, via his social media account and in visual media regarding the investigation procedures being conducted urgently and meticulously by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a judicial investigation has been initiated by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against Attorney Aydın Mantar for the crime of 'Publicly Spreading Misleading Information'."
WHAT HAD HIS LAWYER SAID?
Dr. İlker Gönen's lawyer, Aydın Mantar, had used the following expressions in a post on his X account:
"There is a matter that I had to refrain from mentioning earlier because I gave my word to my client, my brother, for his own request and well-being.
While the 2nd hearing was ongoing, they left a rope (noose) in his cell when he returned from the hearing at the high-security Marmara Closed Prison where they were temporarily staying.
He told me this upon my insistence. I told him that I wanted to file a report immediately regarding this matter and that I wanted to do whatever was necessary to ensure those responsible were punished."
