Former Dean of Istanbul University Faculty of Law and criminal law expert Prof. Adem Sözüer had prepared a scientific opinion regarding the case in which İmamoğlu was tried for allegedly calling YSK members "fools," as well as the case involving the potential cancellation of his diploma following allegations of "corruption."
According to a report by T24, it has emerged that a dismissal took place at the Ministry of Health during this process.
Prof. Sözüer's brother, Dr. Abdülvahit Sözüer, was removed from his position as Head of Public Hospital Services.
It has been alleged that the scientific opinions provided by Adem Sözüer in favor of İmamoğlu were also a factor in the dismissal of Sözüer, who has been reassigned to a consultant position.
"IT IS NEVER POSSIBLE FOR US TO LEAVE THOSE WHO ARE SUBJECTED TO INJUSTICE DEFENSELESS"
Sözüer, who was alleged to have stepped down as İmamoğlu's lawyer following operations conducted as part of an investigation into corruption allegations at the İBB, stated that he had only provided scientific opinions regarding the lawsuits and investigations against İmamoğlu, saying, "Since I did not undertake the role of İmamoğlu's lawyer, there is no question of me leaving it. Of course, legal services can be provided when necessary. As a requirement of the oath we took when receiving our law school diplomas, it is never possible for us to leave those who are subjected to injustice defenseless."
