A new phase has been reached in the "corruption" investigation into the Büyükçekmece Municipality, which is being conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and was first reported to the public on May 8.
The investigation has placed under scrutiny the construction permits and occupancy permit processes issued in the district during the period covering January 1, 2015, to May 7, 2025.
The prosecutor's office requested that a comprehensive list of documents and information be prepared by the Büyükçekmece Municipality regarding the following details for that period:
Which projects were granted construction permits,
Which companies or individuals carried out the projects,
Which projects were granted occupancy permits,
And details such as what the construction projects in question were.
In this context, it was requested that the official records belonging to the municipality be delivered to the Istanbul Police Department.
