Stating that he lived in the Sur district and was a student at the Dicle University Faculty of Dentistry, Baver Bakır requested his release from the court, saying, “It is normal for my fingerprints to be on the bags where the bombs were found. I live in that area; they could have gotten there somehow. I request my release so that I do not fall behind in my studies.”

Finding Bakır's statement sufficient, the court panel decided to release him under judicial control conditions. However, the released terrorist violated the judicial control rules and disappeared shortly thereafter.
