Habertürk TV Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Akif Ersoy, who was detained as part of a drug investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was arrested along with three other individuals by the duty magistrate judge.

The referral document in the file contained comprehensive accusations against Ersoy and those accompanying him. It was reported that the prosecution's documents included the following allegations:
That the suspects provided space and facilities for the use of narcotic substances in their own residences,
That they provided narcotic substances to women who came to the house,
That they prepared the ground for an arrangement where "more than two people engaged in sexual intercourse" following these individuals,
It was also stated that Mehmet Akif Ersoy obtained "sectoral and financial benefits" during the process by directing the women in his circle toward these relationships.
