He was introduced as a 'psychologist'! Volkan Uçak responds to fake diploma allegations: 'It doesn't stop me from being a carpet seller'

New developments are emerging in the fake diploma and e-signature investigation that has shaken Turkey. To date, 37 people have been arrested in the investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. One of the arrested individuals has a remarkable background: Volkan Uçak, President of the Adana Carpet Cleaners Association.

UÇAK’S PSYCHOLOGY DIPLOMA TURNED OUT TO BE FAKE

According to information included in the investigation file, Volkan Uçak was presented as having received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in clinical psychology from Ege University. However, it was determined that during the same period, he was serving as the President of the Carpet Cleaners Association in Adana and had no academic background.

HE REPORTEDLY CHARGED 4,500 TL PER SESSION

According to the allegations, Uçak began operating as a psychologist thanks to the fake diplomas in question. It is stated that he demanded 4,500 TL per session from some clients. Furthermore, it has emerged that he appeared as a speaker on various television programs under the title of "psychologist."

“I AM A CARPET CLEANER BUT I STUDIED PSYCHOLOGY”

Following these developments, which drew public backlash, a statement came from Volkan Uçak. Denying the allegations against him in a social media post, Uçak used the following expressions:

“I started an online bachelor's degree in psychology at the International Dublin University in 2016. Then I moved on to a master's degree. Directions were given to obtain equivalency. Some parts of the diplomas were challenged, but I am not a fake psychologist. Yes, I worked in the carpet business, but that doesn't stop me from being a psychologist.”
