Horrific incident in Şanlıurfa! Mother kills her 2 children and commits suicide
In a horrific incident in Şanlıurfa, a woman who was recently divorced killed her two daughters, aged 14 and 8, and then took her own life. It was determined that the woman killed one of her daughters with an IV drip and the other with a firearm.

According to the information obtained, the incident occurred around noon in the Alibaba neighborhood of the Karaköprü district. Allegedly, neighbors who heard gunshots coming from the 7th floor of an 11-story apartment building notified the police. Upon arriving at the home, police teams found 35-year-old S.K., an IT worker at Mehmet Akif İnan Training and Research Hospital who had recently divorced, along with her 14-year-old daughter A. and 8-year-old daughter N.Y., lying motionless on the floor.
Medical teams called to the scene determined that the mother and her daughter A. had lost their lives. The 8-year-old, N., who was rushed by ambulance to Mehmet Akif İnan Training and Research Hospital, could not be saved despite all medical interventions.
DETAILS REGARDING IV DRIP AND FIREARM
Investigations revealed that the woman had killed her 8-year-old daughter N. by adding medication to an IV drip she had administered, then shot her 14-year-old daughter A. with a firearm before using the same weapon to commit suicide.
It was stated that the details of the incident would become clear following a comprehensive investigation.
The bodies were taken to the Şanlıurfa Forensic Medicine Institute morgue following an examination, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

In a statement regarding the incident, the Şanlıurfa Governor's Office said, "On 27.01.2025, in their home in the Alibaba neighborhood of our Karaköprü district, the mother, S.K. (38), attempted to kill her daughters, 14-year-old İ. A. Y. and 8-year-old N.Y., and subsequently committed suicide with a firearm. While mother S.K. and her daughter İ.A.Y. lost their lives at the scene, N.Y. unfortunately could not be saved despite all interventions at the hospital to which she was transported by 112 emergency health teams. We wish God's mercy upon those who lost their lives and offer our condolences to their relatives. A judicial investigation has been launched into this tragic event.
