İsmail Küçükkaya's reaction to Erdoğan at Anıtkabir: "End this rudeness!"

During the state officials' visit to Anıtkabir on the 86th anniversary of the death of the founder of the Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, some citizens who were allowed inside chanted slogans for the President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Journalist İsmail Küçükkaya addressed Erdoğan on his program "Yeni Bir Sabah" (A New Morning) on Halk TV.

"Do not have slogans chanted in your favor or in favor of any other person there. Please, I implore you. We did not have such an absurdity before," said Küçükkaya, calling out, "I request that you end this rudeness regarding Anıtkabir. Let this rudeness end now!"

Küçükkaya's statements are as follows:

"Mr. President, protocol officers, I implore you; we are very pleased with the line you have taken recently. Your statements regarding Atatürk, your symbolic gestures, and your convening of the Council of Ministers at Çankaya on November 10th—bravo.

But Anıtkabir is the tomb of Atatürk, the founder of our republic, whom we commemorated with respect yesterday. Do not have slogans chanted in your favor or in favor of any other person there. Please, I implore you. We did not have such an absurdity before. It has emerged in the last 3-4 years. Who is letting whom into Anıtkabir, and with what lists?

Mr. President, I am asking you, please; I saw this once when I was with you during Umrah, this disrespect is not new.

When you were at Umrah, a group of our citizens who did not know what they were doing also chanted slogans in your favor in the presence of our Prophet, and you were embarrassed, I saw it.

I request that you end this rudeness regarding Anıtkabir. Let this rudeness end now!"
