New developments have emerged in the incident in Şişli, Istanbul, which resulted in the death of 49-year-old Erol Eğrek, a former employee of Çalık Holding. Eğrek had gone to the front of the company building to demand his severance pay, which he had been unable to collect for approximately 10 years, and was severely beaten following a scuffle with security guards.
Eğrek, who was taken to the hospital after the incident, could not be saved despite all interventions. Now, his daughter, Zehra Eğrek, has published security camera footage of the moment of the incident on her social media account.

LOST HIS LIFE AFTER THE BEATING
On the day of the incident, Erol Eğrek fired a gun at a large planter in front of the building, and then, instead of responding to the security guards approaching him, he held the gun to his own head.
However, at that moment, the security guards intervened to neutralize Eğrek. Due to the intensity of the intervention, Eğrek was severely beaten and lost consciousness shortly after.
7 MILLION TL SEVERANCE PAY
It has emerged that Eğrek worked for many years at Çalık Holding's textile factory in Turkmenistan and had been engaged in a long legal battle to receive his severance pay, amounting to approximately 7 million TL, after being laid off. It was learned that despite winning the lawsuit he filed, he could not receive payment from the holding company.
