Journalist Barış Terkoğlu revealed the whistleblower testimonies that led to the arrest of Mehmet Akif Ersoy during his program on Onlar TV. As part of a drug investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, detention warrants were issued for 8 suspects, among whom was Mehmet Akif Ersoy.

The court arrested 4 of the suspects, including Ersoy, and imposed judicial control measures on the other 4.

CONNECTIONS WITH SERKAN TOPER

Another striking point in the whistleblower's statements was the claim that Mehmet Akif Ersoy gave money of unknown origin to Serkan Toper. Terkoğlu alleged, “Ersoy was empowering Serkan Toper through Habertürk.

Thanks to these relationships, Serkan Toper became an important figure at Habertürk,” claiming that Toper used the Habertürk channel to have news reports published against people he disliked and to initiate lawsuits against them.

He also alleged that thanks to Toper's connections in the judiciary, some individuals were released in exchange for large sums of money. It was stated that Toper's assets have seen significant increases in recent years.

SEXUAL RELATIONSHIP ALLEGATION

One of the most striking allegations was the confession that Mehmet Akif Ersoy would call Süleyman Soylu via video call in the middle of the night to “show off to girls.”

The whistleblower brought the close relationship Ersoy established with Soylu to the agenda, stating, “Mehmet Akif called Süleyman Soylu via video call many times; he was doing this to show off to girls.”

JUDICIAL GAMES AND THE IMPACT OF SEXUAL RELATIONSHIPS ON JUDICIAL DECISIONS

The testimonies also included claims that some members of the judiciary were made to issue arrest and release decisions in exchange for sexual favors. The whistleblower stated, “Mehmet Akif told me that he was under the influence of substances during the accident he had on the bridge,” indicating that Ersoy was under the influence of drugs during the incident that caused the accident.

ASSISTANCE TO A PKK MEMBER

The whistleblower also alleged that Ersoy, thanks to his connections, protected a wanted PKK member, and that this person was even driven around in vehicles to avoid police checkpoints.

BIG CLUB CONNECTIONS

Another allegation was that Mehmet Akif Ersoy established relationships with the presidents of major clubs. The whistleblower said that the president of one major club and the former president of another major club were on the records.

The whistleblower brought up the job connections Ersoy made for Uslu, saying, “Mehmet Akif got Kübranur Uslu, who had no screen experience, a job. A month and a half later, she was on the President's plane.”
