Former Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Lütfü Savaş, who filed a lawsuit for the cancellation of the CHP's 38th ordinary and 21st extraordinary congresses, spoke out following the decision to postpone the case.

The CHP congress lawsuit, which was awaited with curiosity not only by the political sphere but by the entire public, was heard yesterday. In the case filed for the cancellation of the 38th ordinary and 21st extraordinary congresses, the Ankara 42nd Civil Court of First Instance issued a decision to postpone.
Announcing its interim decision, the court rejected the request for the precautionary removal of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, as well as the members of the Party Assembly (PM) and the Central Executive Board (MYK), and postponed the next hearing to October 24.
Former Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Lütfü Savaş, one of the individuals who filed the lawsuit, broke his silence following the court's postponement decision.
Responding to questions from Nuray Başaran on TYT Türk, Savaş stated the following:
"Of course, I wish this court process had never happened. I wish these lawsuits had not been filed in order to protect the legal standing of the Republican People's Party. I wish there had been no infighting within our party, but unfortunately, it has come to this.
It is a matter that truly saddens everyone who holds hope for Turkey, including myself. I am also saddened, but on the other hand, as a politician and an educator, the issue of our party's legal standing also troubles me. It saddens everyone, so this matter needs to be concluded within the framework of the law as soon as possible."
"I DID NOT FILE THE LAWSUIT LOOKING AT KILIÇDAROĞLU"
While Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who lost against Özgür Özel at the 38th Ordinary Congress, continues to remain silent regarding the process, Savaş noted the following on the subject:
"I did not file this lawsuit looking at either Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu or any person belonging to the ruling party; I filed it entirely of my own free will."
Savaş stated, "As you know, the CHP is the ancestor of all parties. This is not a commercial enterprise, nor is it a joint venture. It is a sacred institution for us where people come to engage in politics to serve their country. When I filed this lawsuit, I was a CHP congress delegate and the Metropolitan Mayor," he said.
