Major scandal in the sale of Doğa Koleji to Can Holding! It was said to be 88 million TL, but the truth turned out to be different

As part of an operation conducted against Can Holding, a total of 121 companies, including HaberTürk, Show TV, Bloomberg HT, İstanbul Bilgi University, and Doğa Koleji, were seized.

During this process, allegations that Can Holding purchased Doğa Koleji for only 250 thousand TL have been brought back to the agenda.

Cumhuriyet columnist Murat Ağırel recalled the ownership transfer process of Doğa Koleji in his column.

In 2019, during a period when teachers could not receive their salaries and education was disrupted, Doğa Koleji had passed into the structure of the Istanbul Technical University ETA Foundation.

In 2022, Doğa Koleji was transferred to Can Eğitim Grubu, which is also the owner of İstanbul Bilgi University.

THE CLAIM OF "SOLD FOR 250 THOUSAND TL"

Ağırel conveyed the information he obtained from his source with the following statements:

"In 2022, during the term of the then-ITU Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu, 100 percent of the Arı İnovasyon ve Bilim Eğitim Hizmetleri (Doğa Koleji/Schools) shares were sold to the Can Group for 250 thousand TL without asking other foundation representatives and without taking a general assembly decision. The sales contract does not even include an obligation to pay existing public debts (SSI, taxes). Still, neither old nor current debts have been paid."

Ağırel also stated the following in his article:

"It was stated that Doğa Koleji was sold for 800 million TL. I wanted to confirm this situation. The answer I received was, 'There is no such figure in the sales contract.' In other words, the massive Doğa Koleji appears to have been transferred for 250 thousand TL."
