Meteorology issues warning: Heavy downpours are coming!
While no precipitation is expected across the country today, temperatures are rising. However, the Meteorology service has issued a warning for heavy downpours over the weekend. Rain will be particularly effective in many regions on Saturday and Sunday.
12punto
According to the latest weather forecast report from the General Directorate of Meteorology, no precipitation is expected across Turkey today. The weather is expected to be partly to very cloudy in the northern and eastern regions, and mostly clear and sunny in other regions.
During the morning and night hours, haze and localized fog may occur, especially in the northern and eastern provinces. Drivers setting out in the morning have been urged to be cautious due to this natural phenomenon, which may reduce visibility.
TEMPERATURES ON THE RISE
There will also be a notable increase in air temperatures. Temperatures will rise above seasonal norms, especially in the western parts. Spring-like weather will prevail in western cities such as Istanbul, Izmir, Aydın, and Antalya. In the eastern regions, temperatures are expected to remain around seasonal norms.
The wind will generally blow from the north, light to occasionally moderate. No storm warnings have been issued for those sailing at sea.
ATTENTION TO THOSE WITH WEEKEND PLANS!
According to the Meteorology's 5-day weather forecast report, the weather will turn around as we head into the weekend. Heavy downpours are expected across a large part of the country, especially tomorrow (Saturday). The downpours will not be short-lived; the rain is also expected to continue on Sunday.
