Meteorology issues yellow alert for 3 provinces: Heavy snowfall expected

According to the latest forecasts by the General Directorate of Meteorology, the northern, inner, and eastern parts of the country are expected to be partly to very cloudy, with rain and showers in the surroundings of Zonguldak, Bartın, and Karabük, as well as the coastal areas of Kastamonu, Trabzon, Rize, and Artvin. Sleet and snowfall are expected in the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea region, the eastern part of Eastern Anatolia, and the surroundings of Siirt and Şırnak, while other areas are expected to be partly cloudy and clear.

Precipitation is expected to be heavy rain and showers in the coastal areas of Rize and Artvin, and heavy, locally intense snowfall in the inner parts of Rize and the surroundings of Artvin and Ardahan.

Icing and frost are expected in the inner and eastern parts of the country, with localized fog and mist predicted in the inner and western parts during the morning and night hours.

AIR TEMPERATURE: Air temperatures are expected to rise by 2 to 4 degrees in the western parts, decrease by 2 to 4 degrees in the eastern part of Eastern Anatolia, and remain largely unchanged in other areas.

WIND: The wind is expected to blow generally from northerly directions, and from southerly directions in Thrace, at light to occasionally moderate strength. It is expected to be strong (50-70 km/h) from the west and northwest in the western part of the Eastern Black Sea region, and a storm, locally a strong storm (70-90 km/h), from the west and southwest in the eastern part of the Eastern Black Sea region.

HEAVY PRECIPITATION WARNING: Since precipitation is expected to be heavy rain and showers in the coastal areas of Rize and Artvin, and heavy, locally intense snowfall in the inner parts of Rize and the surroundings of Artvin and Ardahan, caution and precautions should be taken against potential negative impacts.
