MHP's Feti Yıldız on the term 'Türkiyeli': 'It has become history'
MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız addressed the term "Türkiyeli" (person from Turkey) in a social media post, stating that this expression was replaced by the word "Türk" (Turk) in 1938.

MHP Deputy Chairman and Istanbul MP Feti Yıldız made an assessment regarding the use of the word "Türkiyeli" in a statement on his social media account.
Yıldız stated that the term "Türkiyeli" was first used in the Muhâmat Law dated April 3, 1924, to replace the word "tebâ" (subject) and to elevate the status to citizenship.
IT TURNED INTO "TÜRK" IN 1938
In his post, Feti Yıldız stated that in 1938, this term was replaced by the word "Türk," and thus the expression "Türkiyeli" withdrew from the stage of history.
Yıldız also noted that the 1924 Muhâmat Law led to some significant consequences. He explained that under the law, some lawyers were subjected to liquidation and the legal profession was reorganized.
He stated that the liquidations were carried out against lawyers who did not meet legal requirements, as well as those who worked against the country during the Armistice Period.
