Yıldız stated that the term "Türkiyeli" was first used in the Muhâmat Law dated April 3, 1924, to replace the word "tebâ" (subject) and to elevate the status to citizenship.

In his post, Feti Yıldız stated that in 1938, this term was replaced by the word "Türk," and thus the expression "Türkiyeli" withdrew from the stage of history.

Yıldız also noted that the 1924 Muhâmat Law led to some significant consequences. He explained that under the law, some lawyers were subjected to liquidation and the legal profession was reorganized.
