Neither a diploma nor a university! The university of Volkan Uçak, who holds a fake diploma, also turns out to be fake
Volkan Uçak, whose name is involved in the fake diploma scandal that has shaken Turkey, claimed to have received online psychology training from the University of Dublin. However, this 'university' has no connection to Ireland or any academic validity. The institution has a Turkish founder, and its list of graduates consists almost entirely of Turkish names.

It was revealed that Volkan Uçak, known to the public as a “psychologist,” was actually involved in the carpet cleaning business and held a diploma obtained through fake documents. In response to the backlash, Uçak broke his silence, stating, “Yes, I am a carpet cleaner. However, I started my online psychology undergraduate and then master's degree education at Dublin University in 2016. I have my education documents.”
Commenting on the issue, Bilgi University faculty member Prof. Dr. Yaman Akdeniz drew attention to the dangers of fake universities and unregulated online diplomas. Emphasizing that the so-called Dublin University has no academic validity, Akdeniz stated:
“This so-called university has no connection to Ireland. Even its physical existence is questionable. You look at the address, it's in Ankara. The country where it is registered is Georgia. When you look at the graduate lists, almost all of them are Turkish. This is not an educational institution, but an organized fraud structure.”
DUBLIN EXISTS, IRELAND DOES NOT: THE NON-EXISTENT UNIVERSITY
Although the Dublin University at the center of the scandal takes its name from established institutions like the world-famous Trinity College Dublin, it is not recognized in Ireland or the European Higher Education Area. It has been revealed that this entity, presented as a university, has a Turkish founder, its operational address appears to be in Ankara, it is officially registered in Georgia, and its academic equivalence is not recognized in any country.
Sharing a series of posts on his social media account and stating that shell universities are not limited to Dublin University, Akdeniz described the situation with the following expressions:
"These are not any kind of university. These are, as you know, fraudulent companies. In that respect, it is not correct to call them an 'educational institution' or a 'university.' Moreover, before Georgia, this so-called Dublin University also had a branch in Turkey."
"When I last researched this issue in 2022, they had somehow obtained the 'http://edu.tr' domain name, which can only be used by real universities in Turkey, and were advertising at the address http://dublin.edu.tr. I have their 15-page PDF brochures."
Stating that there is actually no school called Dublin University, Akdeniz mentioned a company named International Dublin Education LTD. founded by a Turkish citizen in the UK and expressed the following:
"The truth is, there is no such university. However, there is a company under the name INTERNATIONAL DUBLIN EDUCATION LTD, registration number 13852637, established in the UK. As the name suggests, it is a company. The founder of this company is also a Turkish citizen."
"This company was transferred to a Bulgarian citizen in January 2023. It is not possible to establish a company containing the word 'university' in the UK. It is possible in America. The examples I gave the other day (Aston American and Conley) are also companies established in this way. However, they are not universities or anything of the sort."
"It is also worth sharing this. The fake universities International Dublin University has 811, Conley University has 411, and Aston American has 322 so-called graduates. The majority of these are Turkish or people with connections to Turkey."
